MANGO Publications

MANGO Publications is a Xicana literary arts press founded on The U. S. Bicentennial: Fourth of July, 1976 by poet, Lorna Dee Cervantes, and operated as a Maya cooperativa in order to bring the fruit of the root to harvest and market. We publish the best of the best from poetry rooted in the Earth and rendered in blood to cutting edge Xicanisma crítica and artistic acts of 1st - 4th wave feminisms to visual poetry and soundscapes in both print and digital experiences in spoken word arts. We accept reviews.
Currently and newly revived, we accept solicited works only except during the periods of MANGO Open Call For Submissions. Our Open Calls are just that: open to all unpublished poetry and other literary and/or visual works from any writers in English, Spanish, your Native tongue and the language that you dream in.
We were the first to discover, seek out, publish and promote writers such as Sandra Cisneros, Ana Castillo, ronnie burk, Ray Gonzalez, Alberto Ríos, Victor Martinez, Orlando Ramirez, José Montalvo, Luis Rodriguez, alongside a roster of names which can be found included in any anthology and syllabi of American Poetry today. Gloria Anzaldúa and Dagoberto Gilb sent us their first submissions. Let us now discover you.
Think you're MANGO enough for us? Send us your unpublished best NOW through June for our MANGO Open Call For Submissions to be considered for our Premier Issue/Anthology, "It's A Whole New MANGO Now!" 320 pages; publication date July 4, 2016.
